Readers Workshop: We spent time looking for letters, sounds, and words we know in familiar texts. The students loved learning the rhyming song, “A Hunting We Will Go!”

Math: We worked on counting collections of objects.  We explored how we can count objects in an organized way so that we don’t count the same object over and over again.  We also sorted and graphed rainbow goldfish and ate them!

Writers Workshop: We focused on stretching out words and writing labels on our pictures.  In kindergarten, students are expected to record the sounds they hear when sounding out words.  Kid Spelling can be written in creative and clever ways.  All of our muscle words should be spelled correctly.

Science and Global Citizenship: We learned about the Habit of Mind: Listening with Understanding and Empathy.  We also spent more time getting to know each other!
Special Activities: We read and sang with The Friendly Pirate on Monday afternoon! We learned about all Fire Safety on Friday morning!
