Readers Workshop: We focused on Concepts About Print (CAPs). We explored the way that readers look at the words for meaning, follow the text from left to right, follow the text from top to bottom, and how readers use a return sweep from line to line. We made a class alphabet book using our first names. The students loved using our watercolors to illustrate the pages!
Math: We focused on the numbers 6-10. We played lots of games and read lots of books that focused on the numeracy triangle for 1-10. Please practice writing numerals, counting objects, and recognizing numbers 1-10 with your child at home, too.
Math Bags: The students received new blue math bags this week! Contents include: a Ten Frame, 10 dinosaur counters, a 6 sided dot die, and a 10 sided numeral die. The students love their new math materials!
