Readers Workshop: We spent time playing with language through songs and games. A highlight of the week was reading The Hungry Thing and then acting it out. Each student got to feed The Hungry Thing Puppet pieces of food that rhymed with his silly requests.
Reading Bags: The students received new books to put in their reading bags. They also got a fun bookmark from the reading dogs! The kindergartners are excited to read their new books to themselves, their classmates, our stuffed animals, and using our blue and green whisper phones!
Reading Strategy: Our class learned the reading strategy called Pointy Porcupine. Pointy Porcupine says - Point to each word.
