Readers Workshop: We focused on reading strategies that help us become better readers. These strategies include: Pointy Porcupine, Eagle Eye, Get Ready Gecko, Elephant Ears, Tryin’ Lion, Stretchy Snake, and Chunky Monkey.

Readers Workshop: We focused on reading strategies that help us become better readers. These strategies include: Pointy Porcupine, Eagle Eye, Get Ready Gecko, Elephant Ears, Tryin’ Lion, Stretchy Snake, and Chunky Monkey.
Math: We learned some new math games that use the math strategy called: Counting On. “Counting On is a mental math skill where, when adding two numbers, you begin counting from the largest number and add the second number to it.” We used the skill of Counting On to play the fun card game: Double Bank It!

Writers Workshop: We worked on writing Holiday Cards! The students were very enthusiastic about this fun project. The children are working hard to record sounds, use lower case letters, and have a “finger space” between their words.

Science and Global Citizenship: We picked parts and learned the lines for our Runaway Cookie Play and a special song called 5 Red and Woolen Mitts. The students will perform their play and song at COL on Friday, December 20th at 8:10am!
