Readers Workshop: We talked about how we all have SCHEMA (memories and experiences) which help us understand and connect to books and stories.
Math: We focused on combinations to 5. We played lots of games, and used math manipulatives, to explore all the ways to make 5! For example: 0+4, 1+3, 2+2, 3+1, and 4+0 all equal 5.

Science and Global Citizenship:
*The students learned about the Habit of Mind: Finding Humor.
*We launched our Weather and Climate unit!
*We had a Scientist Meeting focused on the question: Where do puddles come from and where do puddles go?
Guidance: We learned about giving and receiving compliments! Each student got a turn to sit in my chair and receive 3 compliments from their classmates. We practiced using eye contact and stating the other person's name when giving and receiving compliments. This activity was lots of fun for all of us! Thank you to Mrs. Ferguson - our very own Queen of Feelings!
Dates to Remember:
