Coins

Coins
The students added a penny, nickel, dime, and quarter to their Math Bags.
Here are some poems to help your child learn the names and values of the coins.

Funny Money
You put a penny in.
You put a penny out.
You put a penny in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the Funny Money,
And turn it upside down.
And 1 cent is what comes out!

Penny – 1 cent
Nickel – 5 cents
Dime – 10 cents
Quarter – 25 cents

Money Rhymes
Penny, Penny, easily spent.
Copper brown and worth 1 cent.

Nickel, Nickel, thick and fat.
You’re worth 5 cents, I know that.

Dime, Dime, little and thin.
I remember, you’re worth 10.

Quarter, Quarter, big and bold.
You’re worth 25, so I’m told.
